FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is my case worth?

There is no way to predict what a case is worth until we review the case, get to know you and your case, see what evidence the other side has, and other factors. Any attorney who promises you they can get you a certain amount is usually not telling the truth. The truth is, there are many factors at play which might not be apparent in the beginning.

No! We work on a contingency basis, which means we only get paid if you get paid. If we aren’t able to get you money, you don’t owe us anything.

The length of a case can vary greatly. Sometimes, it could take as little as a few months, while other times it may take years.

Always put everything in writing. For example, if you complain to your manager about something, make sure to do it in writing, whether that’s via email or text. That way, it’s easier to prove your case.

It’s not always easy to determine whether you’ve been discriminated against. While an employer can fire you for any legal reason, they cannot fire you for a protected reason, such as race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, and other protected characteristics. Give us a call today, and we can review if your situation qualifies as unlawful discrimination.

Yes. California’s whistleblower laws protect employees against retaliation for reporting illegal activity in the workplace.

No. California is an “at will” state, meaning you can be fired for any reason, and without notice or explanation. However, your employer cannot fire you for an illegal reason, and cannot take any adverse action against you for a protected characteristic.
